New Chairlift on La Plagne Glacier

Work on the new Traversee chairlift in La Plagne has almost been completed. The chairs just need to be attached to the cables and further tests undertaken on the new 4-seater chair. This replaces the rather cranky 34 year old Traversee chair that took you from the top of the Bellecote-Roche de Mio-Glacier telecabine across to the black slope La Combe (previously red).

Overall the old chair was worth taking to access La Combe: the closer red, La Chiaupe could be a nightmare in the wrong conditions. The main reason to take the Traversee chairlift is for the off-piste on the Face Nord de Bellecote. It also gave access to the old black runs: Rochu and Bellecote – they were always better when closed so now that they are unmarked is no loss!

With the recent snow, it is looking to be another great season in La Plagne.
